Troubleshooting Teams Screen Sharing – User Guide

Hi there, Thanks for letting us know you’re having trouble seeing other people’s shared screens in Microsoft Teams. Your camera and audio are working, but the shared desktop isn’t showing — just the person’s picture. This is a common Teams issue, and the steps below usually fix it quickly.

Please try these steps in order:

1. Restart Teams Completely

- Look for the Teams icon near your clock

- Right-click it

- Select Quit

- Reopen Teams and try again

2. Turn Off Hardware Acceleration

- Open Teams

- Click your profile picture → Settings

- Go to General

- Turn OFF Hardware acceleration

- Quit Teams and reopen it

3. Clear Teams Temporary Files

- Close Teams completely

- Press Windows Key + R

- Type: %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams

- Press Enter

- Delete everything inside the folder that opens

- Reopen Teams

4. Try Teams in Your Web Browser

- Open https://teams.microsoft.com in Chrome or Edge

- Join the meeting again

- Check if you can see the shared screen

5. Restart Your Computer

- A simple restart can refresh the graphics system Teams uses

If you still can’t see shared screens after trying these steps, let me know and we’ll take the next troubleshooting steps together.

Thanks!
