When it comes to customizing visits in DentalWriter Plus+, there are several important notes and terms we want you to understand. This article addresses those and will help with personalizing the DentalWriter Plus+ software to your practice.
Notes:
1. To truly understand the customization process, it is beneficial to follow each article and tutorial in the specified order.- Customizing Visits - Show or Hide Tabs and Form Sections
- Customizing Visits - Add and Change Order of Tabs and Form Sections
- Customizing Visits - Edit Form Sections
- Customizing Visits - Adding New Tabs and Form Sections to the Online Questionnaire
2. It is recommended to customize in a TEST patient chart using a NEW visit. You can customize in a real patient chart, but please note if you add/remove/edit items in a form section and apply the customizations to that form, it will alter any data entered in that section. Also, please keep in mind that any customization or adding or removing form sections will affect that specific visit and any future visits for all patients. The changes are not retroactive.
3. Make sure to take the hands-on tutorial and the end of each article but don’t be afraid to test out the new skills you have learned in your own account.
Terminology:
- Patient Questionnaire – The patient questionnaire is a link that is sent to your patients (normally before their visit). The patient can click on the link and provide you with important information from their basic demographics and insurance information to heath and treatment history.
- Visit – There are many types of visits in DentalWriter Plus+. You can have a visit for consultation, exam and work up, delivery, surgery or follow up. They are also related to the type services you will providing; Sleep, TMD, Pediatric Airway or Oral Surgery. Please see a list of Visit types below.
- 4 Step Process – The software is designed to walk you through the 4 Step Process. The visit is also broken up this way. The process is Patient Questionnaire, Examination, SOAP Report and Claims.
4. Tabs – Tabs live within the 4 Step Process of a specific visit. Tabs are there to keep the visit organized. Below is an example of the tabs in the Examination step of the visit.
5. Form Section: Form sections are the different segments of the tabs. There can be multiple form sections per tab. Below are two of the form sections for the Vital Data/Oral Tab within the Examination step of the visit.
6. Items in Form Section – The items within the form section are the areas you are doing the charting. Most form sections and the items are customizable. Below are two different items within two different form sections. Patient Presents form section with a user defined drop-down Item and the Vital Data form section with a textbox control item and numeric up-down control item.
