New Telehealth CPT codes available: Exciting news for medical billing offices—new telehealth codes are available, expanding opportunities for virtual patient care with codes for both video and audio and audio only. These updates extend reimbursement options for remote consultations and follow-ups. If you’re unsure how to incorporate these codes into your workflow, our team is here to help!
Telehealth Call Tips:
- The previous telehealth Codes were deleted. 17 new codes were added effective January 1, 2025.
- 15 minutes of audio/video consultation is now CPT 98000.
- 15 minutes of audio only is CPT 98008.
Important DME Medicare Update: Door sign requirements have changed for new and current DME suppliers.
Medicare no longer allows paper signs taped inside glass doors for DME providers. The sign must be permanent, weather-resistant, and in place before a site visit-an order confirmation is no longer sufficient.
Important concern: Existing DME clients with non-compliant signs risk losing their PTAN if Medicare conducts an unannounced site visit, and the sign is not up to their standards. Help us spread the word- Compliance is Critical!
