      Tricare West Transitioning Back To TriWest: As of January 1, 2025, Tricare West Region transitioned to TriWest Healthcare Alliance. With this, six states from the East Region are now part of the West Region (Arkansas, Illinois, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas and Wisconsin).
       
      TriWest has stated they will automatically re-register all providers from Tricare West but processing times may be delayed. Providers can choose to re-register to expedite the process. (Read More) 
       
      Note: Nierman Medical Billing Service members are actively being re-registered to TriWest. 
       
      TriWest Waiving Referrals and Authorizations: Effective January 1 - March 31 2025, Referrals from military or civilian primary care manager (PCM) or other TRICARE-authorized provider (network or non-network) do not require separate approval from TriWest during the waiver period.
       
      Outpatient TRICARE-covered procedures, services, and equipment ordered or initiated during the waiver period do not require separate approval from TriWest. Beneficiaries are encouraged to take their PCM referral with them to their specialty appointment.
