This Knowledge Base article will cover what the Epworth Questionnaire is, what it measures and why we have patient's fill it out.
The Epworth Questionnaire measures how likely a patient is to doze off in certain situations. It is measured by answering 8 questions and has a 0 -3 number system with 0 being no chance of dozing off and 3 being a high chance of dozing off.
The Epworth Questionnaire is found in the patient questionnaire in the Sleep module of DentalWriter Plus.
The patient will fill this out when doing the online patient questionnaire or in the office with a team member.
They will answer all 8 questions with either a 0, 1, 2 ,or 3 on how likely they are to doze off in each situation. The higher the number the better. Most medical insurance companies have it in their policies that they want to see that number at a 10 0r higher.
Once finished the score will pull forward into the SOAP note/narrative report when it is generated.
