This article will go over how to add a New Charge or Procedure Code right to the ledger in a patient's chart in DentalWriter Plus+
If you would like to add a charge or procedure code to a patient's ledger directly you are going to navigate to the patient's chart and look for "Ledger" in the top menu panel.
When you click on Ledger you will be directed to the patient's full ledger. Once inside of the ledger locate the "New Charge" button. It is located on the left hand side of the ledger and is the color blue.
Once you click on the New Charge button it will open up another box where you will be able to add in the new charge. It will automatically have the that days date listed in the Date of Service, you can change this if you need to. You will then add in the CPT code you are going to charge out. To do this either type in the code if you know it or you can use the search button to look up the code. Add your Charge per Unit if it is not set already. You can add in a Modifier if it pertains to the code and if you are going to be submitting this code to the medical insurance company on a claim form. Once it has all been filled out hit the Save button in the upper or lower right corner. To navigate back to the full ledger you can click "Back to all transactions" in the left corner above "New Charge".
Once back at the full ledger you will see the new charge listed as the firs line item on the ledger. You are now all set unless you need to add any additional charges.
