MARPE is a procedure commonly done to widen the upper arch to help open the airway, etc.. It can be done on Adults and Children and uses an appliance (expander) that is attached to the roof of the mouth with mini screws. Provider moves Maxilla and associated bones forward, repositioning the teeth
bearing part of the Maxilla. Reconstructs the patient’s facial bones to correct congenital
or acquired deformities such as long face syndrome, an elongation of the lower face caused
by childhood mouth breathing.

Provider moves the Maxilla and associated bones, in two segments, repositioning the
teeth bearing part of the maxilla. Reconstructs the patient’s facial bones to correct congenital
or acquired deformities.
21089 – Maxillofacial prosthetic procedure, unlisted (appliance)
